Lyla's hand
Everyone wanted a turn to feed Miley crickets for a late night snack.
Reesi has been wanting a pet forever. She wanted a cat, but I can't deal with the hair in the house. I got her some meal worms in the spring, but her love for the meal worms wore off pretty quickly. I finally relented to a real pet. It started out as a turtle, but did you know the state of Tennessee doesn't sell turtles. So it quickly turned into a tarantula and then into a snake. Reesi worked for about three weeks saving money for her first pet, a snake. I was fine with a snake until everyone I knew continued to freak me out about it escaping! The morning of the day we were planning on getting the snake I talked her into a frog. In hindsight, after talking to people who knew animals and knew what they were talking about, a snake would have actually been easier! That evening when we went to get the snake/frog at the reptile specialty store, The Aquatic Critter. Larry desperately tried to talk her into the snake, who she was going to name Alice. Stubborn as usual, she stuck to her guns and we ended up with a pacman frog that she named Miley. The frog eats live crickets every other day which means we get to keep a bucket with live crickets in our garage. The frog can live up to ten years and grow to be the size of your hand, with your fingers spread out. Once it gets that big it will eat little frozen mice. Which is better, dead frozen mice in my freezer or live smelly crickets in my garage?

OMG! I'm not sure what to say about that....eewww! Any reptile freaks me out. How do you handle it? I hope Maggie will not want a reptile...I'm shocked too b/c Reesi seems like such a girly girl:)
I like the frog idea better than the snake...neither are appealing though! cute pictures from sport camp...
