Last Day at the Cabin

By day three at the cabin we had become pretty lazy.  It was really cold outside.  Lofton, Reesi, Larry, and Phillip went down to the lake in the rain to fish, but got nothing.  I stayed in pajamas all day!  Larry and Phillip drove to another fishing hole and still got nothing.  When it started snowing they gave up.  We spent the rest of the day in the hot tub, watching movies, eating, and then the kids gave the adults a spa night.  The next day we slid our way out of the snow.  The ladies were really worried about getting out in the snow.  The men had to drive Christy's car some of the way because she got stuck trying to drive out of our driveway.  Luckily, Larry pow-wowed with some workers at the top of the hill and they told us some side roads that were clear and not near as hilly.  The kids had the best time on the trip.  They would disappear down to the basement and not come up until they were hungry.  It was a great time with family and friends.  Remember, everyone, we are doing this every year now!!!

Phillip and the kids playing pool and eating wings.
We unplugged a lot since hardly anybody got service, but there was still some iPad fun.

Once Levi saw everyone getting foot massages he stripped his footie jammies right off for his massage.
Phillip gave the girls a big tip!!!!

New Years Day

We all woke up New Years Day to a yummy pancake and quiche breakfast.  Larry and Phillip went fishing with a few of the kids and by the afternoon everyone was ready for another hike.  The Griffin's had to go back to the real world, but luckily we talked them into leaving Ella with us.  Larry, Phillip, Carmen, all the kids, and I went on a long drive in search of a great hike.  We ended up at Picket State Park, drove 8 miles on a skinny gravel park road, and finally found our trail to see the Twin Arches.  It was a great hike filled with tons of rock formations, steps, and even a cave.  Carmen got the best workout carrying Levi.  The best part was when we were climbing up some steep stairs to the top of this rock mountain and Ella said, "I don't want to die because then all of you guys will be in trouble."  Yeah, we would have been in big trouble.  We all survived and we even survived the nasty hole in the ground bathroom.  We ended the night with movie night for the kids and hot tub time for the adults!!

The kids finally got to get in the hot tub.

The girls after using the hole in the ground bathroom.  They couldn't get hand sanitizer fast enough.
 The kiddos before the hike.
Just one set of the crazy steep stairs.

The kids were a little worn out after New Years Eve and passed out on the way to the hike the next day.
