Andy

Andy is still around, but as Reesi grows older Andy gets to do less things and go less places. When I asked Reesi if she wanted to bring Andy in for show and tell, she quickly said no. However, as big as Reesi is getting Andy still has her spot at bedtime. Reesi doesn't sleep with a pillow: she just uses Andy. The other night I got this picture. Apparently, Andy decided to dress up this night and wear her sequins dress to bed. I am so glad Andy still has an important part in Reesi's life. I wonder if Andy will still be around when it's time to go to college?

We Have a Love Hate Relationship

I love these things because they can be a life saver in many different situations. They are great for dinner out, making it through the check out line at Target when it is way past the next nap time, and on Tuesday I got to Swiffer and mop my whole downstairs while Elye Kate happily chomped away. The hate part comes when it is clean up time. A wet wash cloth just doesn't cut it.She needs a bath every time!!

Science Museum

Did you know that Tennessee teachers get into the Science Museum for free? That's a pretty good deal, especially since Larry and I are both teachers. We spent our Sunday afternoon at the science museum and since then Reesi has been on a science kick. The following Thursday she had a field trip at the museum and her dad was a chaperon. While chaperoning he had to climb up a teeny tiny enclosed ladder to rescue three five year old girls, comfort one when she fell coming down, and search for Reesi when she took off and got lost. He said he may never chaperon again! I guess next time I will sign him up for a less intense field trip.

Bath Time

Seven Months

I can't believe it, but Elye Kate, you are seven months old.
At seven months old you . . . .
-just started babbling, lots of ba, ba, bas.
-aren't crawling, but love to get on your knees and bounce. You also love to stand on your feet and hands and stick your booty in the air.
-are sleeping through the night!! However, over the past week you have decided that 6:00 is the perfect wake up time. I am trying to convince you otherwise.
-have learned that your head shakes back and forth.
-have become increasing difficult to deal with on the changing table.
-are never in need of any toys because your sister pulls them all out and lays all around you to play with. See the picture below.
-are still such an happy, easy baby. I am hoping this doesn't change when the crawling begins!

Halloween Wrap Up

hile each of these Halloween festivities deserve their own post, I have waited too long and the Halloween spirit has dissipated. Therefore, here is the Halloween Wrap Up in reverse order.

Halloween Night
We celebrated Halloween night at our house with my sisters and their hubby's and the cousins. Reesi fell down trick or treating again this year and barely made it around the block. Her elbow was too injured to carry the bucket so she would go collect the candy in her hand and bring it back to me, who was holding the bucket.
Boo! This is my little ghost.
It took me about two hours to tie the tulle around an elastic waist band. She wore it for about five minutes total because she would not stop chewing on it and drooling everywhere.

Reesi was a movie star. I know it looks pretty sorry, but that's what she wanted to wear. Lyla was Peter Pan and Grace was Wendy.
This is how excited Grace was!

On Halloween Eve Reesi spent the night with Meemaw, who was so excited to carve the pumpkins! I was equally pleased to escape that duty this year.

Reesi and Andy picking out their face.
Reesi's is on the left. She drew the face and Meemaw cut it out.

Trunk or Treat came first and it was super fun, but super crowded. The best display is by far the hill covered in ice that the girls got to slide down.
