Halloween

This year for Halloween Reesi was Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, I was the tornado, Larry was the wicked witch, and Elye was the Flying Bat.  But then my sister told me there were no flying bats in Wizard of Oz.  They were Flying Monkeys!!  Fail!!!!

We had fun anyway.  We went Jenny's and it was freezing.  Piper and Elye couldn't keep up with the big girls so we hit a few streets and then went back to Jenny's to pass out candy.  The big girls were gone for hours!!  They went all over the neighborhood with Larry and got tons of candy.  We had to weigh it when they got back because it was so much!  Around 8 pounds a piece!!!  That's a lot of candy!!

Thanksgiving

This year we spent our Thanksgiving in Navarre with Larry's side of the family.  We went down on Wednesday and came back Saturday.  Unfortunately, Reesi was sick on Thursday and didn't make it to Thanksgiving dinner, but she did make it to the hot tub in the morning.  Luckily, the next day she was feeling all better and got to spend some time on the beach.  It was a little chilly so I bundled up with my winter coat and boots, but Elye spent about 45 minutes running around in her swimsuit jumping the the water.  Then she would come wrap up for a little to warm up and go out again.  Austin came down and Reesi helped him build a snowman on the beach.  Then the girls went to the heated pool for the rest of the afternoon fun.

On the way home from Florida we found the cutest little Christmas Tree Farm to cut down our Christmas Tree.  The Christmas Tree farm we used last year wasn't open this year, so we had to go with a more traditional tree.  It doesn't have the same character, but it is beautiful anyway.

Volleyball

This fall Reesi started volleyball with 10 of her friends.  She absolutely loves it and I love watching her.  She is so aggressive that we laugh because the ball will be coming to the absolute furthest away spot from her on the court and she will run full speed for it thinking she will make it.  Her serve has improved so much!  She can't quite serve it over hand from the "official" line, but can from the line that her developmental team uses.

More Cheering

Our new neighbors were even at the game!!  Lily has been the best part of moving to our neighborhood!  The girls, especially Elye, love it when Lily comes over to play!

Four Square!

Reesi and I decided to paint a four square court in our driveway last Sunday.  That made Reesi want to have a four square party!!  We invited some girls and moms over after school on Friday for pizza and four square.  There was four square, dress up, trampoline time, roller coastering, dancing, and lots of noise, but everyone had a blast!

A Little Bit of Everything

Throwback Thursday!
Elye and my school had a spirit week and this was one of our favorite days.

 Fall Softball has begun!

Reesi is doing cheerleading this fall.  She didn't want to, but ended up going to a few practices because she was spending the night with some friends and started loving it.

 Annie loves Saturdays.
 Elye making applesauce at school.

 Tailgate night at school!

Labor Day Weekend

Reesi's friends, the Jordan's, invited us up to their farm for a Labor day celebration.  The kids loved running around like crazy and enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery.  Everybody loaded in the jeeps for a ride to the top of the hill for the sunset.  We ended the night watching Frozen on the front of the barn.  Reesi loves all these girls so much and we are so thankful to call them friends!

Special Day

Reesi began talking this summer about wanting to be baptized.  Larry tried to talk her into doing it in the Harpeth River, but she wasn't too keen on that idea.  So a few weeks ago she had a talk with Papoo about it and the next Sunday we did it at Mimi and Papoo's church.  Meemaw, Granny and Papa Snoddy, Jenny and her family,  and Mimi and Papoo all came for the special occasion.  Afterwards we celebrated at Farmer's Restaurant.  Reesi has the sweetest heart and I am so proud of my little girl.

First Days of School

The glorious summer is over and school is back in session.  This year I am going back to work full time and at a new school so it has been an adjustment.  However, I couldn't ask for a better job!  I am the librarian at a wonderful school right down the road.  It's the first year in forever that I haven't had a 30 minute commute and I am loving it.
Reesi is starting fifth grade and Elye is starting kindergarten at my school.  She hasn't been too happy about having to go to school five days a week and not have anymore Mimi/Elye days, but she has finally adjusted.  She still asks every morning when her next day off is.
One day on the way home from school Elye asked me if she could change her name to Elsa.  I said no, but she had already told some friends that she was changing her name.  Elye is going to grow up to be a sales woman because she can be so persuasive.  I relented and agreed to changing her name to Elsa, but everybody was still going to call her Elye.  That was several weeks ago and I haven't heard another word about it.  Until this week when another kindergartener from a different class came in the library and said, "Elsa told me you were her mom!"  Apparently, Elye has been telling all the kids on the playground that her name is Elsa!

Elye Loses Her First Tooth

Elye's tooth has been loose forever.  Since it has been loose so long I kind of quit thinking about it.  I went for a girls weekend at the lake.  Elye and Reesi stayed a night at Meemaw's house while I was out of town.  That Sunday morning during church Elye's tooth came out!  I didn't even realize it was loose enough to come out!  She was so excited and couldn't wait for the tooth fairy to come.  And, of course, she had to spend her tooth fairy money the very next day.

On a second note, Elye has been too scared to sleep in her bed alone lately.  So she has started sleeping with Reesi every night.  Now I think Reesi is getting so used to it she doesn't like to sleep alone anymore!  It's pretty sweet.  Reesi will read a book to her at bedtime and they will even say their prayers together.
