Happy Easter

This Easter Reesi had Friday and Monday off from school so enjoyed an extra long family weekend. Friday we spent our day dying easter eggs, painting easter eggs, and riding Elye's roller coaster she got for her birthday. Friday night we visited Granny Helen and Papa and then had dinner with Poppy. Since it was Elye's birthday the waitresses at Applebee's sang happy birthday to her. She wasn't quite sure what to make of that.

Saturday we went to the neighborhood egg hunt. It was a little crowded and we will probably skip it next year. That afternoon we went to one of Larry's games and then grilled out with Jenny, Eric, and the girls, who had to try out the new roller coaster.

Sunday after church we ate dinner with Meemaw and all the family. Monday, we enjoyed one more day of sleeping late before taking in another baseball game later that day. Reesi spent most of the game working on her favorite new activity that recently replaced jump roping, kite flying. This long weekend made me so ready for summer and made it really hard to go back to school!

Cousins from CA

Sophia and Jack are in town so we've been getting some cousin time this week. Karen and Van met us at Larry's game on Monday. The kiddos were a little loud in the stands, but luckily our team 10 run ruled them and it ended an inning early. Of course, their favorite part was playing on the field afterwards. I love to watch kids go crazy on the baseball field!

Tangled Party

Reesi's "smolder"

Reesi is "tied" to the chair

Jenny and I decided to have a Tangled party last night since both our husbands were going to be gone. Each of the girls picked a character to dress up as. Grace was Rapunzal. She had a little green alligator for her lizard and a skillet. Reesi was Flyn Rider. She turned her shirt inside out and tucked it into her jeans. She made Jenny bobby pin her hair back and she carried a satchel with a crown in it. Lyla pulled out an old horse costume from Halloween and was Maximus. Meemaw and Papa Van stopped by with cookies and cupcakes. Even Elye stayed up until 9:00 watching the movie. Every time I would mention bedtime she would say, "No, I wach a moomie." It is such a cute movie and the girls loved it.

Ball Game Today

Reesi had her first "good" hit today. I wish I could have taken a picture of her smile. She was so proud of herself.

Fun in the Sun

The rest of the pictures will be on facebook!

Carmen and Phillip invited everybody we love to church and Phillip's cooking afterwards. Reesi stuffed herself full of as much shrimp as she could and we spent the whole day outside enjoying the 80 degree weather. The kids climbed trees, played Star Wars, played in the sand, hit some baseballs, had a water gun fight, and played with every riding toy imaginable. They have every outside toy available that any kid could want. While the kids were busy playing the adults played corn hole, basketball, and planned a summer trip sans kids. Nick, we'll be waiting on our itinerary!! We had so much fun it makes me miss living in White House! I couldn't think of a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon.

Let's Play Ball!

Elye and Reesi at Larry's game later that day. His field is beautiful! Unfortunately, all his time and energy goes into his baseball field not his backyard. Our backyard is kind of the opposite of his field:( And how about that Batter's Eye. That's another one of his projects he is so proud of.

The girls love to drag the field with Dad.

Elye wants to spend the whole time at the playground next to the ball field.

Reesi did not want to play softball this year. Every year we ask her she always says, "I'll play when I'm six." Well, when she's six then she says, "I'll play when I'm seven." This year we convinced her to play by telling her that Grace was playing b/c she was playing and she couldn't flake out on her cousin. So she went for it and she's been having a good time. She loves grounding the balls and she stopped several at the first game. She was 0 for 2 at the plate, but luckily she wasn't too upset about it.
The night before the game Reesi decided she wanted to pray with her team the way Dad does. So we emailed the coach and set it up. It was so cute to see them gathered around the pitcher's mound before the game for her to lead the prayer. It couldn't have been sweeter.

Movie Night

Santa brought Reesi a TV for her room and she loves it! Here is Reesi, Elye, and her cousins having one of their movie nights.
