Our Week in a Nutshell

Reesi and Poppy at the zoo.

To Reesi's delight, we finally left for Florida at 6:45 Friday night. Reesi was running around the house screaming and dancing. Luckily, the screaming stopped when we got in the car and she immediately began working of her drawing and coloring. Around 10:00 we turned off her movie and told her to go to sleep. I think she was asleep in 10 minutes. I couldn't help but think how this ride next year will not be that easy since we will also have a nine month old. We arrived around 2:30, but Reesi was up the next day by 7:00!

Larry's sister, Jeff and Leslie, just moved into a new house with a pool and hot tub. Reesi is loving the pool and wants to be in it all day even though it is cold. She has enjoyed the hot tub too since it is nice and hot.

So we spent Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in Navarre, but due to the nasty weather we didn't make it to the beach. We did get to go to the zoo on Monday with Poppy. Luckily, I brought a big umbrella and we made it out nice and dry. Reesi and I then left for Tampa early Tuesday morning with Karen, Granny, and Papa Snoddy. Reesi was excited to get to stay with Angie and cousin Sophia and got to go to the Aquarium in Tampa on Wednesday.

Thursday Karen and I left for Disney with our two little princesses in the back. Sophia loved the teacups, but Reesi's favorite rides were the cars and Peter Pan. Larry arrived at the park (he had baseball games Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in Destin) just in time for the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. This was actually Reesi's favorite part and she wore her Cinderella dress for the rest of the day. The girls were so good the whole day and we had a great time. I did leave my brand new phone I just bought on Monday on a park bench. I even jumped out of line for Peter Pan to go look for it, but it was gone and I was soooo upset! However, Disney really is a magical place because by the time we left the park that night someone had turned it into lost and found. That might have been the best part of the day for me!

Meemaw and Sophia went back to Tampa while Larry, Reesi, and I stayed for Epcot the next day. It was all so much fun, but two days is just not enough. It has just made me want to go back for much longer next time. When we left for home on Saturday morning Reesi cried real tears saying, "Can't we stay just one more day?" I felt the same!!

Another Reesi Night

Friday night we had a family dinner for Reesi's birthday. Before dinner the girls were outside playing kickball with Jason. Grace and Lyla were making some great kicks, but Reesi insisted on being the cheerleading and yelling for the Lions. After kickball we came inside for dinner, cake, and presents. Reesi loved every present so much! Larry and Jason's birthdays were also on the fourth, but they didn't get much attention that night. That's the downside of having your daughter born on your birthday. Everyone had a great time and it was a great time with family.

Reesi cheering during the kickball game.

Reesi with her Andy cake that Karen had made.

Reesi enjoying all eyes on her during the birthday song.

Grace really enjoyed the cake and ice cream.

Reesi's first present she opened was from Julie and Jason. She got a box full of jewelry, a tutu, and a crown. She loved it. Ususally, five year olds tear open a present, throw it aside and look for the next one. But with this present she sat there for 10 minutes looking at each piece of jewelry.

Reesi is showing off her new clip on earrings.

Reesi got a Cinderella dress from Mimi and Papoo.

She wore it all night and all the next day.
She went to put it on right away and then stopped and looked around at all the eyes staring at her. She then said, "I'm go upstairs for some privacy."

Reesi was so excited about her mermaid Barbie from Grace and Lyla.

The birthday banner Reesi and I made Thursday night.

All her jewelry from Julie. She went upstairs to lay it all out perfectly.

Showing off all her jewelry.

Reesi and her vanity all set up perfectly.

Coloring the next day in her Cinderella dress.

My Big Five Year Old

She made me take a picture of her feet because she said they were so big now.

She got to eat a popsicle for her birthday breakfast.

Reesi woke up on her birthday so excited! She came down and pooped right away. This may be TMI, but Reesi has been refusing to wipe her own booty. So we told her that when she turned five she had to wipe her own booty. So on her birthday morning she took control. She even folded her toilet paper nice and neatly. She also no longer needed her step stool to wash her hands. She is such a big girl now!!
