"God can do glorious things," Reesi said as she was picking the peas from her garden this morning. She planted a very tiny garden in our backyard this year. She plotted the days from picking to harvesting and has memorized how many days each should take. I'm not sure if she memorized them correctly, but she sure acts like she knows what she is talking about. So she was super pumped today when the peas were ready before her estimation. It's not a lot, but just enough to make her excited. I can't wait until next summer when she can help her Papoo plant a huge garden at their new house. She will be so excited not to be limited to 3 plants. "And I'm going to have my own section!" she proclaims.

CMA Fest

Larry's stepsister's niece is in the band, Stealing Angels, so we decided to head downtown to watch them perform on the Bridgestone Stage. It's so much fun to go downtown during the CMA Fest to see everything that is going on! It was packed. After the show we picked Reesi up a pink cowgirl hat (she called it her country hat) we headed to Satco to eat. Then, of course, we had to make a trip to the fountains. I always forget about these fountains and am never prepared. Elye's diaper was about to bust at the seams when a nice lady offered me a swim diaper. After cooling off in the fountains we checked out a flying dog show. It was basically dogs jumping into a pool and catching their toy on the way. Nothing to amazing, but definitely entertaining to a 2 year old. It was a fun night of free entertainment!

Lynchburg
Larry has been wanting to go to the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg for quite a while now. I have been putting it off because I can't imagine that this would make a great family trip to go watch whiskey being made. I couldn't put it off any longer so we went last week. We stopped for lunch at this cute little cafe in Eaglesville and then headed for Jack Daniel's. It was actually interesting and Reesi had fun taking pictures the whole time. I have about 85 pictures of the landscaping and scenery outside if anyone is interested! Elye enjoyed looking around at everything, but did not like the "smell bad" whiskey smell. I agree with her. I think the worst job ever would be the whiskey taster. They have to taste all the whiskey from the barrels and then spit it out. Yuck. We then went to the town square for some ice cream. This is where the trip took a turn for the worse and Elye threw up twice and then two more times on the way home. If it wasn't for the throw up it would have been a wonderful day!!

Happy All Day Summer
My summer was delayed three days due to snow days make up, but by June 7 I was done with school!! Reesi and I have an argument going over who loves summer vacation the most. She insists it is her. I love the slow mornings of not having to rush out the door and the nights of not worrying about getting everyone in bed early. Reesi loves going to the pool, every day! Elye is always just along for the ride. One time when Reesi and I were getting excited about it being summer Elye piped in with, "Happy all day me!" So that is the them of our summer now. We are going to enjoy our happy all day summer!

Crawfish Boil

Our friends, Phillip and Jonathan, had their annual crawfish boil again this year. Due to some baseball games we came at the end of the party, but there was still plenty of fun to be had. Reesi had her share of crawfish again and the girls put on a "fabulous" play in Ella's bedroom. They kept going around the party guilting people into visiting their show. It was a Christmas show about Christmas morning. I thought it was pretty cute for a bunch of 1st and 2nd graders.

Grandparents Day

Reesi's school has a big grandparents day program every year. This year Mimi and Papoo came. Reesi took them to her classroom to show off all her things before the program. After the program Reesi picked Goldan Corral for lunch. She thought they would love it, but secretly, I know she picked it because she loves it and Larry and I refuse to ever take her there! It was a fun day with the grandparents!
