Grassmere Zoo

It was Harvest Days weekend at the zoo and it was packed! We took the hairy eared dwarf lemur to see the other lemurs at the zoo. To Reesi's delight, her cousin's Grace and Lyla joined her at the zoo. Not only did we see every animal we also visited the booths set up for the Harvest Days Celebration. Reesi got to plant seeds, paint(and while the paint said washable it did not come out of her clothes! Don't ya love that!), make a candle, and a necklace that she is still wearing. We ended the day with diner and Dippin Dots at MeeMaws. Working full time really makes you appreciate every Saturday!

Another Exciting Week at Preschool!

I've got more pictures from the wonderful preschool teacher, Mrs. JaNet.

One picture that Mrs. JaNet didn't get this week was Reesi's boo-boo. When MeeMaw went to pick her up on Tuesday there was a boo-boo report waiting for her. Reesi's pink suede running shoes were running faster than her body could handle and she bit the dust, or should I say the mulch. When the mulch settled there was a half-inch long cut on her arm. Even after the Neosporin and band-aide was applied Reesi held her arm against as if it were restrained with an imaginary sling. I was actually worried that maybe she had really injured it. That was until she was in the bathtub holding her arm and crying. I tried my hardest not to laugh because she was holding the wrong arm. Two days later she fell and got a rug burn and could barely walk the next day. I always knew she was a sensitive one, but this is a little excessive! She will no longer wear her pink suede running shoes. Reesi has determined that they are just too dangerous (look for them arriving on Ebay soon). Hopefully, this week we will escape any more unfortunate mishaps.

Saturday at the Frist

While Larry was taking his doctoral comps, Reesi, my sister, and I headed to the Frist. I had went there with my fourth grade class this week and thought Reesi would enjoy the Art Quest section since she is still crazy about art. Her favorite part at the Art Quest was the watercolor painting. I was hoping that she would enjoy looking at the ancient Chinese art and modern Chinese photography. However, she was did not appreciate the years and years of work put into the Chinese scrolls. All she could say was, "Can we please leave right now!" As we were trying to leave, discretely avoiding the gift shop, Reesi noticed it immediately. While there she fell madly in love with an endangered hairy-eared dwarf lemur. Thankfully, part of the money we wasted on this ridiculously priced lemur will go to protecting the endangered animal. She absolutely loves it today, but ask me tomorrow. Maybe this will be the one to replace Kitty!

I am also proud to say that, finally, she is writing her name! In the past, the only letters Reesi would accept being part of her name were o's. She insisted that her name was spelled o o o o o o and I could not convince her otherwise. This week she decided to write it the conventional way. As she was writing she said, "Mommy, I wrote an R!" I was so excited and took the opportunity to teach her the rest while she was willing and excited. Now she can't stop writing it. This is one of her first names she wrote. Now they look even better. She is growing up so fast!

More Preschool Photos!

Best preschool ever! I am so delighted with Reesi's new preschool and preschool teacher. I just received an email from her teacher about her 2nd week of school and she included tons of pictures. I will only include the best and since some of them have pictures of other students in them I didn't want to post them without them knowing.

As you can tell she is learning to play the guitar at school. Her teacher sings with a guitar everyday and also shows the children how to play. She proudly shows us at home the correct way to hold it and I was impressed when Reesi said, "You strum it like this."

Her preschool also has a gymnastics instructor come in weekly for gymnastic class. In this picture she is perfecting her somersault. If anyone in the area is looking for a preschool I have been so pleased with Reesi's. It is ---------------and it is wonderful!

MISSING KITTY! SUBSTANTIAL REWARD!

White, Ragged Kitty with blue eyes; about 22 inches long.
It is the kitty on the far right. Any of you that know Reesi, know Kitty. She got this kitty almost three years ago from Granny Snoddy and she took it everywhere with her and it even talked(through Reesi's meows, she had to translate for us). Unfortunately, this is the best picture I could find of Kitty, which is pretty sad in its self. Kitty was last seen in a buggy at the Bellvue Kroger on Hwy. 70 and has been missing for three days. Reesi is heartbroken and she cried off and on for two hours Tuesday night until we finally got her to sleep. She just kept saying, "But she was my best friend and somebody stole her." This was a traumatic experience for us all. We have searched high and low for an exact replica of Kitty, but no luck. Presently, Kitty has been replaced by two kitties named Andy and Meeko. It's not the same as Kitty, but Reesi is slowly adjusting. However, keep your eye out for kitty. We would do anything to get her back!!

Preschool Days are Here!

Preschool time is here! Last week was Reesi's first week of preschool and it was quite an adjustment for her. The first two days she cried several times during the day for her mommy. The whole first week she did not want to go each morning, which made her mommy cry when she left her. Once she was there she had a great time. However, today when I picked her up she didn't want to leave. I think she has finally made some friends and she told me she would be excited to go to school tomorrow.

These are some of the pictures of her day that her teacher emailed to me. Her teacher is unbelievable. She has over twenty years of experience, her degree in early childhood education and she follows a creative curriculum, which I love.
Art is Reesi's favorite thing to do now and as you can tell by her picture she is quite gifted! Well, at least I think so.

Labor Day Weekend!

We had a busyLabor Day weekend. We went to our first --- Football game, which was a fun experience! Unfortunetly, our friends visiting from out of town, Shawn, Holly, and Lucas, got drug to the game. Luckily, we talked Larry into leaving at halftime so that we could spend some "quality" time together.
On Saturday we headed to Indiana to be with my family. Reesi had a great time playing with her cousins and never wanted to leave. But the real world was calling our name so we headed home on Sunday.
