The Pampered Life

Now that I am pregnant Reesi has been pampering me. On Wednesday, our snow day, Reesi insisted on making me a sandwich (even though I had just eaten breakfast). While I relaxed on the couch Reesi slaved away in the kitchen getting me my "healthy snack" as she called it. She climbed up and got the bread. Then she opened up a lunchable she found in the fridge and turned it into a sandwich. I didn't actually eat it and later I snuck it into the trash, but what a sweet thought.

I Can Understand the Reasoning

Reesi has been using some big words lately. Sometimes she knows what they mean and sometimes she doesn't.

When I asked what was in her arms she said, "A sweater, you fool." This required some major timeout, but she still isn't quite sure what it means.

The other day in the car she told Larry to be quite because she was trying to concentrate. She knew what this one meant: trying to think of something.

Andy has a baby now and Reesi was telling us that baby Sarah was drinking from Andy's odor. We tried to correct her, but that never goes well. She then went on to tell us that cow's drink mild from their mom's gutter.

Lately, when she has been getting in trouble, like when she was supposed to be sleeping and instead got her scissors and cut holes in her sheets and pillow cases, she says, "But Mom I was just curious." Apparently, she wanted to know what what under the sheets. When asked to explain what curious meant she said "You wonder what inside. Like if I was curious about what's inside a tree it would be paper." Well, at least she knows paper comes from a tree, but I think I need to explain that one better.

Party Time!

She has even lined the steps with decorations.
We've decided to go to Disney World while we are down in Florida for spring break. Therefore, we were explaining to Reesi that this year we weren't going to have a big birthday party because we were going to take her to Disney World instead. She was okay with that, but then asked if she could just have some friends over to eat and play. We agreed and she immediately started decorated. Everyday she has been asking me if she can have her party today. Then she started talking about what they were going to do. First they were going to eat and then have a tea party. Of course, there will be cake and after the cake then everyone will leave to go to Disney World. Not quite what we meant, but she took it well when we explained that we were the only ones going to Disney World. However, she is still decorating for the party. It is going to be a long wait.

When I Grow Up . . .

She did not want her picture taken!

Later that day Larry got a haircut. Needless to say he does not want it posted. It is similiar to the Jonathan G. hair cut of 2006 (was it 2006?) and his students say it looks like he is wearing a Yakima.

My friend from school got us some free tickets to the circus on Saturday. It started with Reesi falling out of the car when we got there and getting a small cut on her finger. To her, however, it was pretty major. Being the great mom that I am, I had no band aids. The first stop at the GEC was first aid where we had to sign for a band aid. Then off to see the show.

Reesi loved it and has decided that when she grows up she's going to be in the circus. She going to be the lion tamer, the trapeze artist, the motorcycle driver, the fire girls, etc. She's basically going to do everything and be brave. This from the girl that just got done freaking out over a scratch on her thumb.

During intermission Larry took her to get some cotton candy. When he went to pay he handed them a five only to be told that it cost $12. Even with free tickets he wouldn't spring for the cotton candy based on principle and the fact that it cost them about 20 cents to make. So she had to settle for $4.00 ice cream.

It was actually a pretty good show and I look forward to going to see Reesi in it one day!

Getting Ready for Baby

We made our first purchase for the new baby and Reesi had to try it out on her own. She was very excited. When she climbed on the back the first thing she checked was that she had room to reach over the seat to give the baby a kiss. She will be such a sweet sister!

The Weather Outside is Frightful

Grace concentrating on her work

A couple weekends ago it was freezing. My mother was coming in town and I was thrilled to get a day off of school due to the cold. So Julie came down and the cousins came over for a day of fun. We played at home, went to McDonald's and went to see Hotel for Dogs. As we were walking out Reesi states, "I am so glad we got to have a girls' day." It is a good thing we are having a girl because where would a boy fit in?
The rest of the weekend we stayed in. I threw out a down comforter on the floor, Reesi brought all her animals down, and she had a Poplar Mechanics for Kids marathon. Later that weekend she did break out the fancy socks for hard wood floor skating. We also went to JoAnn's for Reesi to pick out some things to paint. She picked the colors on her own and went to work. Grace also came over to paint her masterpiece. Reesi loved it and can't wait to begin work on the next wall. It was a nice relaxing weekend at home and what a better place to be when the weather hits the single digits.

Elmo's World

The Smith's from school were sweet enough to give us some costumes that their girls have grown out of and they were an immediate hit. It is really funny to watch Elmo wrestle a caterpillar.

Reesi-isms

Things around the Nesbitt house have been so calm that I haven't even taken pictures since Christmas! We haven't been doing much other than searching for girl names. It's not going well! But here are a few Reesi-isms. She always keeps up laughing.

Apparently, while falling asleep the other night Reesi found some scissors in her room. She decided to cut a hole in her sheets and pillowcase. I was obviously not happen when I discovered this. She just looked at me like it was no big deal and said, "But Mama, I was just curious what was under there." At least she's not curious anymore.

Driving down the road and looking out the window she suddenly realized that all the leaves had fallen off the trees. She exclaimed, "Look at those horrible neaked (naked) trees!"

When trying to get a drink of my Diet Dr Pepper she asked, "Can I have a drink of . . . What's that called? Pepder Dier?

In the parking lot at Kroger Reesi looked down and saw a cigarette on the ground. She gasped and said, "Look, somebody glittered!" (2/12/09)

When I told Reesi it was my birthday she ran upstairs looking for a present to give me. She couldn't find anything so she came back down and said, "For your present I'm going to give you all of my love." I then got the biggest and best hug ever!! (2/16/09)
