Pumpkin Carving is Disgusting

We finally got around to carving our pumpkin. Reesi was not interested in helping me remove all the guts. She adamently protested saying it was disgusting. I think I agree. It may not be the most elaborate pumpkin, but it was drawn by Reesi and carved my me. She then went back and drew hair. She was thrilled with the result. We immediately lit a candle and put it on the porch. Reesi yelled to the neighborhood to look at her pumpkin. She can't wait to show it off to trick-or-treaters tomorrow night.

Titan-Up

We had a great view of these guys from our seats.
Larry and I both had on about four layers of clothes. It was a little cold.

Monday night Larry and I spontaneously got tickets to the Titans game and we could turn them down. The seats were unbelievable and it was such an exciting night. Titan-Up!

Sweet Nothings in my Ear

Last night Reesi woke up in the middle of the night and wanted me to lay with her. I climbed in, rolled over, and faced the wall. A couple minutes later I felt a little hand rubbing my arm and then she quietly said, "Mama, we'll always be together." It was the sweetest. I hope she is right.

Cooking with Daddy

The New Baby

This is Reesi's most recent picture with the new baby, Reesi, Grace, and myself.

(Ignore the grease spot. It got laid on the counter during dinner.)

Ghouls at Grassmere

Reesi's trying to smile through the fear.

This picture says it all. Grace is so excited and Reesi is so apprehensive.

Can you see the fear in her eyes?

Reesi is jumping out to scare Larry.

There was a time when Reesi, for reasons unknown, refused to take part in any pictures.

Skipping and singing down the trail to get treats. I believe they were singing, Trick or treat, smell my feet . . .

Saturday night Larry and I decided to take Reesi to Ghouls at Grassmere and since Grace had spent the day playing with Reesi she also came along. Reesi decided to wear a ballerina outfit from her dress up closet instead of her cat outfit and Grace pulled out a Tinkerbell dress from the closet. We had gone last year and had a great time, but we were shocked when we arrived and saw a line a mile long just to get tickets. I guess it was because it was the last night, but it was crazy. So after waiting 20 minutes in line for tickets we were finally ready to go into the zoo. We went trick or treating on the trail first and it was a little stressful trying to keep Reesi and Grace moving with the crowd. After trick or treating and getting some hot chocolate we decided to go to the big open area full of activities. There were much more activities than last year, but due to the LONG lines we just went on the Scary-Go-Round. Reesi is pretty much a scardy cat and when she saw the lights on the Scary-Go-Round going off and on and everyone screaming, she decided she did not want to go. We made her go anyway and by the end of the ride I was holding her while she was crying. The crowds definitely made the night not as enjoyable as last year so we have learned our lesson about going on the last night. But we made the best of it and still had a good time.

Singing in the Shower

This is where all the girls slept with Mimi.

Everyone had to try on Jason's Halloween wig. Apparently, he is going to be Richard Simmons.
I kind of think it looks good on Reesi.

Last weekend all the girls spent the night at Julies and got to visit the huge tub again. This time however, Reesi fell in love with the shower and has now decided that she is a big girl and can takes showers all by herself. Personally, I am all for it. We throw her in the shower, suds up a washcloth, put some shampoo in her hair, and shut the door. She then takes care of herself, singing the whole time. This is just one more step towards being a big girl.

The Beginning of the Candy Fest

Last weekend Reesi had her first trunk or treat of the season at Cat and Poppy's church. She was a little nervous to approach the scary trunks, but decided it was worth the risk for a bag of Skittles and she hit every trunk. She came out with quite a stash. She has been constantly looking at it and counting it. We have been sneaking the candy out of the basket when she isn't around, but she hasn't noticed it disappearing. Now that her candy is almost gone she is ready for another weekend of trick or treating.

My Loft is a Disaster!

About a month ago, Reesi got the bright idea to pull out the mattress in our extra bedroom and her old crib mattress and turn our loft into the set for "The ----- Show." Then she has found a roll of tape and began decorating for "The ------ Show." I have been patient, but the mess is beginning to drive me crazy. A couple weeks ago I was sick and Larry had to sleep upstairs. When Reesi woke up the next day and saw her mattress had been moved back into the extra bedroom she freaked out. So, of course, the mattress was moved back. I don't know if or when our loft will be back to normal, but she has been having a blast! On Monday, Grace and Reesi played upstairs for hours working on "The ------- Show." When I came up I just had to take a picture of Andy. Apparently, it was her birthday again, hence, more decorations! I just don't have the heart to take it all down. At least the mess is upstairs and out of sight!

Reesi's Going to be a Big Sister

Reesi could not be more excited. We told her on Saturday at Sonic and she talked about it non-stop. At one point, she paused and said, "My heart is full of that baby!" Reesi is already constantly putting her head on my belly and saying that she feels it. She says that she will do everything and the big kids can just have fun. Sounds good to me. She was hoping for a boy and a girl, but the ultrasound today ruled that out. She will be the best big sister.

Hound Dog Ho-down

Meow!

Reesi dancing to the music.

Today after school Reesi, Lyla, Jenny, Eric, Grace, Mimi, Papoo, and I all went to the local elementary school's Hound Dog Ho-down. There wasn't too much to do, but the girls had fun and I got a ton of good books at their used book sale. Reesi was sporting her Vote McCain for President shirt and a man was so impressed that he came up and took a picture of her and her shirt. Tonight we are having a sleepover with all the girls and Mimi and Papoo. The girls are keeping themselves busy working on the ------- Show and delivering twin babies. They have been so good and I got some time for updating the blog. However, it comes at a price: a humongous mess upstairs! Wish me luck.

Field Trip to Gentry's Farm

Reesi and I enjoyed a day off on Tuesday and a trip to Gentry's Farm with her preschool. I love watching her interact with her classmates and be such a good listener. One of the pictures above is of her and another student with their hands behind their back. Right before they went to see the animals in the cages the leader told them to keep their hands behind their back. They did not move them from behind their back the whole time. I was so proud! She had a great time and the rain held off until right when we left. However, Larry sent us on a errand in downtown Franklin and we got lost looking for City Hall. We ended up having to run around in the pouring rain without an umbrella! We were not happy, but it was nice to go home and get right into some comfy clothes. It was sooo nice to have a day off for fun!

Fish Fry

Our family always looks forward to the Fish Fry at our old school, -------, so we headed to ---- ----- last Saturday for a morning of fun. The food was fabulous, thanks to Phillip and his entourage. Reesi loved the games. One of her favorites was a jump rope spinning booth. She has played with her jump rope all week. She doesn't really jump rope, but it makes great reins to her imaginary horse. It was also fun to see all our --- ---- friends and for Reesi to see her old preschool teachers. Unfortunately, my battery died after the first booth, the pony rides. At least I got a few pictures!
