Four Months

At four months you . . .
-have the cutest squeals.
-have already been injured by your sister and cousins several times. Nothing serious, but just enough to warrant a big cry.
-tried cereal, but was not interested at all.
-have become a drool monster and now spend much of your day with a bib on.
-are beginning to develop more consistent naps. You will usually take at least one big nap a day(2 hours or more), a shorter one (1 to 1 1/2 hours), and a cat nap to end the day.
-still aren't sleeping through the night, but the past two nights you have gone to bed at 7:30 and slept until 5:30. After a quick bottle you go right back down until 8:00.
-immediately roll on your stomach as soon as we lay you down.
-are quite the mover. You roll onto your belly and rotate your body 180 degrees or more.
-are still super sweet and usually very content.
-weigh 12 pounds (17 percentile)
-are 23.75 inches long (25 percentile)
-have a head circumference of 15.55 inches (10 percentile)

First Day of Kindergarten

Today was finally Reesi's first day of kindergarten.  She was super excited, but also nervous.  The whole way to school she said her stomach hurt.  We arrived at school a little early and stopped by Larry's classroom so he could see her.  We then made our way to the classroom.  Her teacher this year invited the parents to stay for a little bit.  They are staggering the days the kindergartners come this week so there were only five kiddos.

They came to the rug and sang a few songs.  Reesi was pretty nervous at first and just stood there playing with her hair.  After a couple songs she began to warm up.  Then Mrs. Anderson reenacted the book Caps for Sale using the students for monkeys and one of the dads for the salesman.  It was pretty cute.
Last of all everyone sat on the rug for a prayer and the parents said good-bye.  Reesi was busy playing by this point and could care less if I was there.
When I picked her up at 11:30 she said her favorite part was playing Doggy, Doggy, Where's Your Bone.  They also took a trip around the campus and even stopped by Larry's classroom.  She doesn't go back until Friday, but I she's ready to go back tomorrow.  I know she is going to love it!

Skinny Dipping

I found these pictures from a few weeks back that I forgot to post.  Our friends, Daniel and Kara, came over and I forgot to tell them to bring something for Isaiah to swim in which led to the skinny dipping.  It is now the end of a season.  Against Reesi's wishes we are in the process of taking down her pool for the season.  She is also not very happy about going to bed early. Reesi keeps saying that summer isn't fun any more.  I agree!  But there is something fun in each season to look forward too!  Now if we can just make it through this heat to fall.

I Once was a Carnie

I bet you didn't know that, but it was only while the carnival was in town and I just sold tickets. This weekend, however, I got to visit the fair, not work it.  Saturday we talked Karen and Van into watching Elye Kate so we could have all night Reesi night and go to the Williamson County Fair.  She changed the name from all night Reesi night to family love night and enjoyed all the attention.   So here is the night in reverse order.

She loved this bear(at least for one night) and slept with it despite the fact that it felt like it was stuffed with Styrofoam.

Reesi trying her hand at busting some beer bottles.  Fortunately, her daddy used to be a pitcher and he won her that horrible stiff bear.
Here is the animal Reesi won all on her own.  She was very proud.

This is her catching the prize winning shark.  Notice the sign in the background: winner every time!
We watched a juggling act.
Safety girl, Reesi, was shocked that any one would actually ride some of these rides.  This is her watching the ride that drops you several hundred feet.  She said, "If that fell you would definitely have surgery!"
Pony Ride-I had on flip flops so I was pleased that Larry had to dodge the poop.
Brand New Piglets- poor mama
She was just trying to get some rest in the hundred degree weather and those little piglets just kept tugging and climbing all over her.
We started with a trip through the little farmers thing.  If you have every been to the Williamson County Fair you know how cute this is.  However, being our fourth time to visit, we sped right through trying to get to the juggler on time.

A Busy Week!

This past week was a little crazy and a lot exhausting.  Larry and I both started back to school this week so my parents came in town to watch the girls.  Jenny and Eric were in Texas all week so that meant that my parents had all four girls!  I think the week was just as exhausting for them.  Larry and I also had to fit in a kindergarten dessert, my open house, and all his scrimmages.  By Friday night I was so tired!  The girls had tons of fun swimming and playing every day.  They love having their Mima and Papoo around.  Here are the pictures of the week (in reverse order).

Saturday Reesi made me make a cake, again.  She is loving these cake shows on tv, but it means she wants to make cakes all the time.  Not so healthy!  At least this one was strawberry which is not my favorite flavor and not so tempting.
Being away from Elye Kate during the day has made it seem like she has grown so much.  She is getting so chubby and since we've never had a baby with rolls we are loving it.

Dad kept super busy this week too.  When he wasn't supervisor the three older girls he was power washing the house, painting doors, and finally putting up that weatherstripping that Jason told us was so important.

Thursday, after getting home from a long days work at 7:00, Mimi and Reesi helped me make(well actually they did most of the work) kissing hand cookies.  I always read The Kissing Hand with my kiddos and parents on the first day so we made a hand with a Hershey's Kiss in the middle of it for snack.

And Reesi got flour everywhere.

Grace had her first day of first grade.
Elye Kate loves the swing.
And Lyla loves to climb the swing.

Julie came by to do the Drano test to determine the sex of her baby.  It was inconclusive due to the minuscule amount of urine she could eek out.  I thought pregnant girls always had to pee!
I store a lot of my kindergarten teaching supplies in my garage and Reesi loves to explore!  This day she found feathers!
