Charge!

Saturday night we attended one of the last Sounds games of the season. Summer is officially over:( The girls had a blast and only asked when the fireworks were going to start about 87 times.

Raise Your Hand If . . .

Have you ever played that game? Grace, Lyla, Reesi, and Larry were playing that game at dinner. Elye caught on pretty quick. The questions started out pretty simple. "Raise your hand if you like school. Raise your hand if you teach second grade." Then Larry, the biggest troublemaker of them all, started in with silly questions.

Raise your hand if you like to poop in your pants.

Raise your hand if you like donkey poop.
This one was Reesi's.
The girls joined in quickly with their non-appropriate questions.
Thanks, Larry.

Raise your hand if you like to eat boogers.
Elye fell for it every time!

First Grader!

Like all children do, Reesi is growing up too fast! Not only is she in first grade, but she is insisting on walking into school all by herself. Last year I couldn't talk her into it during a pouring rain! I think she is entering a new stage in her childhood!!

County Fair

The Tractor Pull - I talked all the girls into signing up for the tractor race and tractor pull. Reesi worked so hard! She might have won if her shoes had not have slipped off the pedals. I told her not to wear her "heals" to the fair! Lyla made it to the second heat, but the victory was ripped away by a bad call on the photo finish. Grace did an actual pull. During her race Larry was in charge of watching Elye and he let her run right into the track. Grace stopped so she wouldn't hit her and then lost her momentum. No Trophies Tonight!

This is always my favorite part at the fair! If you've been then you know what I am talking about. It so good for little kids!

Elye loved the animals and, of course, tried to climb the fence to get to them.

These people were making a killing! $5 a pop!

Magic Kingdom

Biggest disappointment of the day - Reesi's all time favorite ride, Small World, was closed for renovation! We did enjoy many other rides. One of her favorites was the Buzz Light Year ride and The Haunted Mansion. The ride she hated - Splash Mountain. She actually cried (really loud) through the whole ride because she knew the big hill was coming. After this one we promised no more scary rides!!

Animal Kingdom

We started off this day with the 3-D movie, It's Tough to Be a Bug. I never realized it was so scary~more tears and screams of terror from my child! The Lion King show cheered her up and the safari ride was her favorite. Dinosaur~not her favorite. Actually, she rated it the worse ride of the whole trip, so you can imagine the tears and screams. Her parents should have known better! We left Animal Kingdom early due to the rain, but it was cleared up enough by 7:00 to head to the pool to cap off the night.

Epcot

Out first day at Disney we headed to Epcot. We were the first in line and headed straight for Soaring, along with everyone else in the park. As we were rushing into line, Reesi even fell down. I was afraid she would get trampled, but we swept her up quickly and kept moving. Larry was working the fast passes that day and we got to ride Soaring three times. We ate dinner with the princesses and saved the biggest ride for last, Test Track. Reesi is a cautious girl and she wasn't too excited about this ride, but being the brave six year old she agreed to go. The first three quarters of the ride were fine, but the last part was a bit too fast for her and she lost it. Big tears. I guess some people just aren't cut out for thrilling rides!

Road Trip!!

Larry, Reesi, and I packed up for a long road trip to Disney World. Since Elye won't sit in her stroller longer than 5 minutes she spent the week at Mimi and Papoo's. On Sunday the three of us loaded up for our 12 hour ride. We broke up the monotony with a stop in Atlanta at Ikea and Varsity's. This was my first trip to Ikea with a mission to buy the cardboard magazine holders for $1.99 for five. How I wish I would have had several hours and several hundreds to spend! But I was in and out in ten minutes with only $20 worth of book boxes to show for it.

We then stopped at Varsity's for lunch. The plan was for Larry and I to both eat a hamburger and share a chili dog. Larry took one bite of the chili dog and never stopped. He went back to get one for me since he didn't share. He came back with two. Just thinking about that chili dog makes me hungry again! Not the friendliest service, but great chili dogs.

The rest of the road trip was filled with music, Jerry Seinfeld stand-up, Itouch games, drawing, and a short movie. We even got to our hotel with enough time for a late night swim at our Holiday Inn. Tomorrow, Epcot!
