Weekend

This past weekend we started out our Friday afternoon with some paper mache. I found this cool paper mache book at McKay's and knew Reesi would love it. It is pretty cool, but time consuming! It takes so many coats of paint to cover up the newspaper! We may do one more project and then we'll be selling the book back to McKay's. We finished up our Friday night with Sir Pizza and the football game.

Saturday we hit the flea market to check up on Meemaw and her pain lotion booth and to get some Feista at my favorite Feista booth. After the flea market we did our grocery shopping at Trader Joe's (don't ever go on a Saturday there with kids, way too crazy!). From there Larry went to the Titan's game, Reesi went to Mimi and Papoo's with Lyla, and Elye went to bed at 7:00 since she skipped her nap. I ended the night finishing The Help while searching for something to watch on TV. Sad, but true I ended up watching a Good Luck, Charlie rerun. I love that show! Sunday we spent to day at the pool at Mimi and Papoo's. I love weekends!

First Day of School

Notice her snaggle tooth that is hanging out. I'm hoping that Mrs. Cline can pull that soon!

Reesi's first day of school finally arrived. Her school tackled some major construction projects over the summer and postponed school a week so that could finish. It was well worth the wait. The school looks awesome and I spied a smart board in Reesi's classroom that I am quite envious of. The playground isn't done yet, but from the looks of it, it is going to be unbelievable. Reesi was glad to get back to school and see all her friends. The summer is now officially over!

Round & Round & Round

Elye has lately developed an obsession for carousel rides. She discovered them at the mall and is constantly begging to go. She spied one outside Big Lots today and got so excited. Of course, one ride isn't enough for her. I always have to convince her to get off by telling her the horses need to rest or eat. Oh, and her horses name is alway Janet.

Memail

"I checka my memail, right now," Elye says.

Smurfed

Last week we celebrated our last day of no school by going to the movies. It didn't turn out quite as anticipated. We had to wait for our dishwasher to get installed before we left so we were running a little behind. It was pouring rain as we rushed inside to make it to see Smurfs. The movie was sold out which meant we had an hour to kill in the arcade. We finally saw the movie, which Elye was surprisingly wonderful throughout. We go outside to leave and our car is dead. Luckily, Jenny was in the area and gave us a jump. So our 2 hour movie turned into a much longer afternoon! We got smurfed.

The Fair

The Williamson County Fair is going on right now and it's always one of our favorite things to do. We got to the fair around 5:00 and headed straight to the kiddie farming area. Reesi still loves doing it and Elye could actually follow directions and participate this year. Then we visited the goats, chickens, horses, cows, rabbits, and pigs. Next, Larry made us head to the hypnotist show, which was just okay. The rest of the night included riding a few rides, eating some fried foods, watching a Animals of America show, and a bmx show. We didn't leave until almost 10:00! Elye was wiped out, but so good in her stroller. Reesi still wasn't ready to leave! It's always a great family tradition.

Sisters

Sometimes Reesi and Elye get along so well. This was one of those times. I put this activity together with Elye and, of course, only got around to doing it with her once. Luckily, Reesi has stepped in and taken it over. She is quite the little teacher and I think Elye might just listen to her better then me, hmmm.

Summer Days

This is what I found Reesi doing one day during Elye's nap. After a morning at the pool there's nothing better then a fuzzy robe, a good movie, and Oreos. Gotta love summer!

Sports Camp

Reesi goes to sports camp with her dad every summer. She loves every minute of it. Her favorite is crazy day. She's kind of like me. If there's a dress up day she likes to go all out.

The Fourth

We spent our fourth this year at my parent's new house in Fairview. They moved in the Saturday before and the girls want to spend every minute they can there. We had a little firework show and did sparklers. Easton loved the fireworks, but Elye wasn't to sure about them. It was a great day to break the new place in.

Back in the Saddle Again

It's time I stop being lazy and start blogging again! Our summer has been packed full of fun and adventure and I've not documented any of it! I know I will regret this when I finally getting around to making our 2011 memory book. So I'm catching up by doing a post a day for, well, however long I can make it. Larry and I go back to school next week and Reesi starts in two weeks so our summer is dwindling away. Today we tried to beat the heat and head to the Adventure Science Museum. Larry and I both get in free since we're teachers so it's a great deal for us. Elye was a little overwhelmed by the dinosaur and the body parts. She spent much of her time in my arms. Reesi loved it, of course. Larry almost got stuck in the of the tunnels and we really thought for a second we were going to have to call for help. Some how he got out. By the time we got to the car, Elye melted down the whole way home, but took a great nap once we got there. We also ate burgers at Gaby's Burgers and Fries. Great burger joint right by the Sounds Stadium.
