Late Christmas

After our trip to the cabin we had a quick Xmas with Angie, Tom, Sophia, and Jack.  They are living in Belgium right now so it was a treat for them to be in town.  After   yummy meal at Meemaws Sophia came over for a slumber party.  Those girls have so much fun together!

Day off!!

We throughly enjoyed our day off of school for MLK day.  The girls spent Sunday night at Mimi and Papoos.  Then I picked them up and took them all to the Compassion Experience, where you walk through the life of a child from a third world country.  Next we met Larry for a hike at Warner park.  It was a beautiful warm day!!

100th Day of School

Elye celebrated the 100th day of kindergarten this week.  For homework she had to make a tshirt with 100 items on it.  She wanted a dog themed shirt so she stamped 100 dog prints and painted a puppy that I ironed on after she painted it.  She was so proud of her shirt and excited for the 100th day.

Snow!!

We finally got some snow, but it was just barely enough for play with.  Also, unfortunately it was on a Saturday!! As soon as the girls woke up they started getting ready immediately.  We spent several hours sledding in our front yard.  Grace, Lyla, Piper, and the neighbor kids came down for some sledding and snow ball fights.  It was melted by 12:00, but still tons of fun for the girls!

Great Outdoors NYE 2014

We headed out to the cabin on New Years Eve with the same crew as last year.  This year we stopped at Burgess Falls for a hike on

the way.

After our hike we drove a little more to Livingston. There we hit the grocery and stopped at Christy's grandma's house for a yummy lunch she cooked us.

Then we headed to the cabin. Everybody claimed their beds and the kids started playing right away.  Luckily Amy brought her essential oils and helped take care of all our ailments.  She's got an especially great one for, um, gas pains.  Larry got the fire going and got a serious game of black jack going.  By the end of the trip all the kids knew all about double down, insurance, and splitting.  If they grow up addicted to gambling, we are blaming Larry!

Phillip cooked an amazing meal and the kids rang in the new year at 11:00.  Not everybody made it to 12:00, but it was still a great New Years celebration!

The kids with their sparkling cider and "fancy cups" the Griffin kids picked out.
