Franklin Rodeo

Last night we went to the Franklin Rodeo and took one of Reesi's favorite friends, Isabella.  I had forgotten how much I love rodeos.  I think I missed my calling as a barrel racer because it looks like so much fun.  I also forgot how long rodeo's are (7:00-10:15) and it took 30  minutes to get out of the parking lot.  Reesi and Isabella were great, but the last hour and a half with Elye wasn't exactly relaxing.  She was great during the events, but there is a lot of down time between all the events.  I loved the bull riding the most, but unfortunately nobody made it to 8 seconds.  This made me want to go to the rodeo finals inVegas and see some real riding.  We will definitely go back next year and buy tickets much earlier so we can get some good seats.

Willie was there!!  Well, at least his cardboard cutout was.

Mother's Day Picnic

Elye's preschool had the sweetest Mother's Day picnic last week.  They provided yummy lunches for Elye and me, while all the moms joined the kiddos on blankets on the lawn outside.  Elye was so excited for her mom to come eat lunch with her and I was so thankful I didn't have to work that day and could join her.  The hardest part of working is missing the fun stuff the kids have at school.  It makes me even more thankful for the days I get to come.  She was so sweet and even delivered my lunch to me.  She also talked us into to buying her this new dress for the occasion while we were shopping for Reesi earlier in the week.  Luckily, it was on clearance for $11.00 and she wore it three days in a row.  I think we got our money's worth already.  Love this little girl!

Happy Mother's Day

This Mother's Day we all went to church with my family and then out to their house for a cook out.  It was a beautiful day, but only 66 degrees.  That didn't stop the girls from swimming.   Reesi is proud to say she was to first one in the pool for the season.  They spent the afternoon playing outside by the pool.  Unfortunately,  I spent most of the time doing homework inside, but was glad my girls got to play.  I also forgot to get a Mother's Day picture with my girls.  Other than that, it was the perfect Mother's Day.

Reesi and Grace about to be pushed in.

A very unhappy Grace throwing her water at Larry.

Zoo Field Trip

I recently got to chaperone Reesi's field trip to the zoo.  I drove her and three of her best friends.  These girls are just so much fun!  We listened to the Christian remix of Thrift Shop the whole way while they belted it out with the windows rolled down.  Once we got to the zoo they wanted to run everywhere.  We had seen everything at the zoo and then still had an hour left!  The best parts were when we got to see the elephant poop and then kick it.  The other highlight was to bird aviary.  One bird flew straight into Emma and then three landed on Olivia, while she was screaming, "Get them off, get them off!"  Reesi is so lucky to have such fun sweet friends!

She Learned This From Her Dad

CA Cousins

Since Papa Van was sick over the past several months, Reesi got the chance to see a little more of her cousins from California.  Reesi says that her and Sophia have a "long distance relationship."  I love it when these kids get a chance to play together.  Papa Van always loved it when he had all his grand kids together.

Hike!

Larry has decided that he loves hiking now so every free day we have, he is either trying to find a good hike to take or a fun festival to go to.  Here is just one of our hikes that we took one Saturday during our Spring Break.
