Saturday at the Frist

While Larry was taking his doctoral comps, Reesi, my sister, and I headed to the Frist. I had went there with my fourth grade class this week and thought Reesi would enjoy the Art Quest section since she is still crazy about art. Her favorite part at the Art Quest was the watercolor painting. I was hoping that she would enjoy looking at the ancient Chinese art and modern Chinese photography. However, she was did not appreciate the years and years of work put into the Chinese scrolls. All she could say was, "Can we please leave right now!" As we were trying to leave, discretely avoiding the gift shop, Reesi noticed it immediately. While there she fell madly in love with an endangered hairy-eared dwarf lemur. Thankfully, part of the money we wasted on this ridiculously priced lemur will go to protecting the endangered animal. She absolutely loves it today, but ask me tomorrow. Maybe this will be the one to replace Kitty!

I am also proud to say that, finally, she is writing her name! In the past, the only letters Reesi would accept being part of her name were o's. She insisted that her name was spelled o o o o o o and I could not convince her otherwise. This week she decided to write it the conventional way. As she was writing she said, "Mommy, I wrote an R!" I was so excited and took the opportunity to teach her the rest while she was willing and excited. Now she can't stop writing it. This is one of her first names she wrote. Now they look even better. She is growing up so fast!

Don't tell Reesi but that lemur has a face ONLY a mother could love. Great job with the name writing Reesi.
