We cooked lunch for Elye's birthday with my side of the family on Saturday. It was supposed to be dinner, but since Larry's game got canceled we decided at 10:15 to make it a lunch and I hadn't even gone to the store yet! I also had to fit in a shower and making a cake, too. I wanted to make a dairy free cake for Elye since she still has trouble digesting dairy. I looked carefully over the ingredients on the cake mix box to make sure there was no dairy. I was being such a good allergy mom! At least I thought I was until Jenny informed me that I just mixed a whole stick of butter in the batter. Duh, butter is dairy! Fortunately, the other cake mix I bought didn't have dairy either and called for oil instead of butter. So we had two cakes. There was no opening of presents since I already gave her the presents I got her at the yard sale. Mimi and Papoo got her a water table, which was just too big to mess with wrapping, and Jenny couldn't wait to give her her present either and gave it to her on Friday. I figured Reesi would have just ended up opening them anyway. So it was a pretty low key birthday for this one year old. But Elye loved the attention and the cake and had a great time. Happy Birthday, Elye!
Ah, ignore this nasty bib!
Luckily, she has a sister and some cousins to help her blow out the candles.
Not sure about this cake thing.
"Really, you want me to eat this?"
"Yeah, it's yummy!"
Trying to get a shot of all the grandchildren.
Easton loves his cousins already.

I love that flag banner thing...did you make it? And were you able to do the cake pic?
Happy Birthday! I love the pic of Reesi and Elye...and messy baby cake!
I can't believe that she is one! Happy B-day, Elye.
