Days with Elye

So much for tummy time! She was just to tired.
Elye finally had her first smile (while being awake), but by the time I got the camera it turned into this.

This is her typical face. I call her "the thinker." She always has this serious look on her face with her eyes brows furrowed.

Big cry, cry

Baby Got Back!
I've been using cloth diapers this time. The only downside is the big booty!

Elye slept through an entire Target trip. I was very thankful!

We Got A Pool!!

Okay, so its not a pool like this.
But the girls still LOVE, LOVE it!
I had the bright idea of buying one of those 12 foot pools with a pump for our backyard this summer. Since Elye is still so little it is just not practical for me to be taking Reesi to the pool everyday so I finally talked Larry into one of these. Once we got it out to set up we decided we really didn't want to kill a 12 foot patch of grass so it is now on our patio. Not the best looking backyard, but Reesi loves it. Grace and Lyla now want to spend everyday over at our house and Reesi has hardly watch any TV since we got it. The downside: my house is a wreck. If I'm not messing with Elye then I am outside watching the girls swim and there is an endless amount of debris tracked onto the floors. Oh, the joy of children!!

This is Reesi relaxing in the pool.

While we were setting it up the girls could not wait to get in. This is them playing in two inches of water.

Soooo excited!

Dinner with Friends

Isaiah was giving Reesi a kiss on her forehead, but by the time I grabbed the camera it turned into this.

Daniel and Isaiah

Love those baby blues and the ketchup on the cheeks!

Hmm, what can I get into next?

One of her screams after a great hit. Is this allowed on the golf course?

Elye enjoying her bottle.

Nice form, but keep your
head down.

Maybe next year Isaiah will be swinging and not eating.

Now that baseball and basketball season are over we have time for our dinners with Daniel and Kara again. Isaiah has grown up quite a bit since our last dinners. Reesi is getting an idea of what it will be like next year when Elye is into all her things. Reesi is pretty patient, but always lets out a frustrated huff or a possessive comment about her things as Isaiah explores.
Recently, Reesi has rediscovered her golf clubs from last summer. Tonight she actually let Larry give her some advice and pointers on her swing. The water balloon scream reemerged as she made some pretty good hits. Larry would love for her to be a golfer!

Our Own Petting Zoo

This was the alpace "in love."

This was Reesi's favorite animal. A baby sheep named Bella.

I had to get a picture of these teeth!

Notice how high she had her knees.

Celia, a teacher I work with, has tons of animals that she does petting zoos with around the area. We were lucky enough to be invited to come out and see them all. I thought Reesi would love it since she is going to be a veterinarian. However, she was a little nervous about the proximity of the animals. Celia let them out of the cages and they were very up close and personal. Especially, with Deneille. There was a certain alpaca that took a liking to her. Reesi made me hold her the whole time and you can tell in the picture how high her legs were when she wrapped them around me. Reesi assured me that she wasn't scared. It was just that her feet were hurting. Curiously, whenever we walked down to the creek where there weren't any animals she said her feet were feeling much better. She had a great time in the creek and loved her "adventure."

Fun at Monkey's Treehouse

"I'm a beautiful butterfuly"

Notice Reesi's hair. These are the hair extensions Julie bought her for her birthday. She has worn them everywhere for the past two days. She thinks everyone will think she dyed her hair.

Six Weeks

Little Elye Kate is changing every day. We are currently fighting a diaper rash, but the $50 diaper cream is working right now so we are crossing our fingers that it will clear the last little bit of the rash up. The doctor's visit meant that we did get to weigh her. Every time I am out with her strangers always stop us to look at the little baby. They always ask one of two questions: How old is she and how much does she weigh? Well, now I know how much she weighs: 8 lbs. 5 oz.
Elye Kate has also woken up! She is fighting the sleep. This means we have spent some time swinging on the front porch, walking the halls and sidewalks, got out money's worth out of the Moby wrap. She loves to be held while she sleeps. This may be my last baby so I'm going to enjoy holding the sweet sleeping baby. Current sleep schedule at night: eat at 9:00, 2:00, 5:00. Hopefully, the more pounds she puts on the better the night will get.

Let's Fight!

This is how excited Reesi was. When was the last time you've been that excited?

Last week Jenny came home with some water balloons and I got the opportunity to wear my fingers raw tying them. If the girls had not of been so excited it would not have been worth the pain. As we were filling and tying they were running around us screaming at the top of their lungs with excitement. The fact that the balloons didn't bust when they hit them didn't even bother them. They just began holding them over their heads and busting them. They loved it!

*Jenny, I tried to cut and paste your writing, but I couldn't figure it out so this is the lazy version of the story.*
