One of our Christmas traditions is to go to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our own Christmas tree. Ever since I've been a kid I've always wanted to get the biggest Christmas tree and I've passed that down to my girls. This year we had planned for a photographer to take our pictures in Hendersonville and then the plan was to head to the Christmas tree farm in Gallatin we went to last year and cut down our tree. After our pictures, Larry started heading towards the Interstate back to Nashville. He insisted he was headed to the Christmas tree farm in Whites Creek that we went to last year. I told him, "No, that's the one we went to last year and left because the trees were no good." You see, last year we first went to this farm that said they had "free range" Christmas trees. Turns out the trees were all 40 feet tall. You are supposed to cut them down and then just use the top, but the problem with this is that the branches are about 10 feet wide and 3 feet apart. We went there last year and left.
And the story's not over yet. All was well until several days later we come home to this:
I had been asking Larry the past couple days if he thought the tree was leaning more. He said no. Maybe he was wrong or maybe Annie made a jump for the cranberries and popcorn she'd been eyeing for days. Not sure what happened, but it was a big mess!
Pictures out of order but this is when we brought it home.
