I cannot believe that my baby girl just turned nine. You know your child is growing up when they start having slumber parties for their birthday! We first celebrated with my parents, sisters, cousins, and Meemaw at our house. We ate too much homemade spaghetti, made my dad hang the massive mirror that has been in my garage for the last five years, and played Wii in Reesi's newly decorated room, which was our birthday present to her.
For her friend birthday she had eleven girls over. They ate, danced, played Wii, made Duck Tape purses, and screamed more than I ever expected. Lydia told ghost stories, which freaked out several girls. They watched Ramona and Beezus, which made several girls cry because it reminded them of when their dog died four years ago! Girls are so crazy.
Bed time was also fun. Isabella faked sleepwalking and another got up playing tricks on the sleeping girls by pouring water in their beds. Whew! It was exhausting for me. I put a limit of 3 girls for the next sleepover and took a big nap the next day. Reesi had a blast so I guess it was all worth it!
