Elye has a big basket of toys and several big, plastic, loud music playing contraptions upstairs. However, they usually go untouched. Every once in a while she will pull something out and play with it for about 2.5 minutes, but she spends most of her time playing with things that are not meant for babies. I even went to Learning Express and bought the hottest toy of the season. That lasted for maybe 5 minutes the first day. Are there any toys out there that are worth buying for and 1.5 year old?

Her favorite is to dump out a basket of freshly folded laundry.
The Swiffer: We have a fight over it every time. If I let her play with it before I use it the battery dies before it's my turn. So she usually screams and cries until I am finished and it is her turn.

Gabe is the SAME way! The only toys he likes are what Jude calls his "Sesame Street action figures". I find it hard to believe that Elmo can be an "action figure"...figurine perhaps? Regardless, he loves them and green army men.
So cute! I babysat my best friend's one year old last night. My disclaimer was that I don't have toys. She told me just to pull out tupperware and a wooden spoon. =)
