Westgate Water Park

Reesi winning the race

Elye sleeping by the pool

This is Meemaw's feet flying into the air as she shot out of the slide.

Enjoying the hot tub
While in Gatlinburg we stayed at Granny's timeshare, Mountain Loft, but Granny, Papa, Meemaw and Papa Van stayed at Westgate. Westgate is huge, beautiful, and still expanding. But the best part about West Gate was their indoor water park. I loved it because that meant no sunscreen application!! Reesi loved it too! It had two big slides, a pool, lazy river, two enormous hot tubs, and two children's' areas. Reesi spent most of her time in the hot tub, pool, and lazy river. Reesi and Larry would race around the lazy river and Reesi would win again. Do you see a pattern here? She did put her face in the water, but never went all the way under. She held tight to her tube and had a great time!

Pitt-Putt Anyone

"It's hot!" says MeeMaw and I agree, especially since I was also holding a sweaty little baby.

If you've been to Gatlinburg before then you know putt-putt is on just about every corner. Reesi was quite excited about pitt-putting, as she calls it. We first did Hillbilly Golf and Reesi insisted on winning and of course, we obliged. So she actually beat everyone on both nights or at least she thinks she did. She couldn't believe she was so good at pitt-putt and now she says when she grows up she is going to be a champion pitt-putter. One day we are going to have to teach her that she can't win everything!

Sweet Sisters

Sweet. Sweet. Sweet.

Relaxing in the Pool

This is how Reesi enjoys the pool. She still hates water in her face and refuses to go under. However, in the bathtub tonight she did put on her goggles and put her face under. She claims that she's going to do it in Gatlinburg, but I would be surprised.

Why Do We Make Brownies?

So we can lick the batter. Seriously, after Reesi ate one brownie I threw them all away. I just can't have them sitting around the house or I'll eat them for breakfast every day.

Below are a few pictures from a dance show Reesi put on. She could not get over how good she was. She even told me to get my camera out and of course she said, "Grace and Lyla are gonna want to see me do this." It's all about impressing her cousins.

We Tried to Take a Walk

But it was a very short walk. Summer has arrived and it is hot, hot, hot!

Gotcha!

Elye's smiles are few and far between. I think she is going to be a much more serious girl than Reesi. I finally got her smile on camera! Just ignore the hairy legs in the background!

Puppetry

Reesi recently picked up a puppet from my pile of school stuff and that puppet sang the whole time in the car. I wish I would have had a video camera!
